Telnyx

Telnyx is a high-performance carrier often chosen for its cost-effectiveness and private global network. Iqra AI connects to Telnyx via Call Control.

Prerequisites

A Telnyx Portal account.
A purchased Phone Number in your Telnyx account.
A V2 API Key.

Getting Credentials

Generate API Key

Log in to the Telnyx Mission Control Portal.
Navigate to Account Settings -> Keys & Credentials.
Click Create API Key.
Copy the key immediately (it will not be shown again).

Connect to Iqra AI

Navigate to Business Dashboard -> Integrations.
Click Add Integration -> Telnyx.
Paste your API Key.
Give it a name (e.g., "Telnyx Production").

Webhook Configuration (Call Control)

Unlike Twilio (where you configure the number directly), Telnyx requires you to create an Application and assign numbers to it.

Get Iqra AI Webhook

In the Iqra AI Dashboard, go to Numbers.
Add your Telnyx number.
Copy the Webhook URL provided next to the number (e.g., https://us-east.iqra.bot/webhooks/telnyx).

Create Telnyx Application

In Telnyx Portal, go to Call Control -> Applications.
Click Add New Application.
Name: "Iqra AI Agent".
Webhook URL: Paste the URL you copied from Iqra AI.
API Version: Select v2.
Anchors: (Optional) Select the region closest to your Iqra AI Route Server (e.g., Ashburn, VA for US East).
Click Save.

Assign Number to App

Go to Numbers -> My Numbers.
Edit the number you wish to use.
Under Connection/Application, select the "Iqra AI Agent" app you just created.
Click Save.

Telnyx (and regulations) often require you to associate an Emergency Address with your phone number before it becomes fully active for outbound calling. Check the "My Numbers" tab in Telnyx for any warnings.

Call Fails Immediately: Check if the Connection/Application is correctly assigned to the number.
Latency: Ensure your Telnyx Application "Anchor" region matches your Iqra AI "Route Server" region.
